Tropical Garden & Hawaiian Culture Exploration

Quick Details

Visiting Child (Ages 7-16)

This tropical garden exploration is designed by our education staff to provide kids, ages 7 – 16, with an opportunity to traverse the beautiful 9 acres of Princeville Botanical Gardens while learning about Hawaiian songs, myths, and culture. They will discover native Hawaiian plants, canoe plants, and plant families. Participants will also engage in an ‘Aina based art activity that synthesizes what they learn on their exploration.

The tour will be lead by our certified teacher in residence, Alegra Quane. Alegra comes to us with over ten years of experience teaching a range of classes to a wide variety of ages. She holds a Masters of Education from DePaul University as well as the University of Illinois in Chicago. Alegra most recently taught at Hanalei School on Kauai.
